Haven’t installed the dolphin yet. All the lakes are still frozen and the boat is shrink-wrapped.
Seems like a high quality item . I won’t know how good it os till May
I purchased The Uncle Norms No-Drill Clamp Set to install my Dolphin trolling motor fin's for my Yamaha T9.9. My TR-1 was pretty active in choppy conditions, even in the lowest sea state setting. I needed a solution to an overworked TR-1 and had heard of Uncle Norm's products from a fellow angler. I made the order and selected the No-Drill alternative. I received the Trolling-Fin and No-Drill kit and had the assembly installed in the driveway in less than 15 minutes. Sea trials (Shasta Lake) were excellent and I immediately noticed better tracking, less TR-1 activity, and improved turning responses during step turns. As a full time professional fishing guide, I look for every advantage I can find and anything that will make my day on the water just a little easier. I swore I'd never own another boat without a TR-1, and now I can say my kicker motors will always have an Uncle Norms Dolphin-Trolling Fin attached as well! - Jeff Goodwin Guide Service.
only way I know to increase rudder
Item arrived and looked great. Followed instructions on how to mount non drill mount. Found only the way it would fit was to grind down center portion about a quarter inch. It wouldn't lay flat against the rubber stick on. My buddy had it also and said he needed to do the same and he has the same motor. He forgot to tell me. Looking below my prop is really close to making contact to with the underside of the mount. It's the thickness of a penny. More work or more worry for this mount that was supposed to fit without drilling. Please ask other 2018 Honda 9.9 owners if they have had the same issues. pictures show grinding modification and prop closeness.
