Orca Performance Fin - Discount/Scratch & Dent/Used
The Orca-Performance Fin triples the effective rudder area providing a tighter turn radius and sharp crisp directional control at any speed. The larger surface area of the Orca-Performance Fin blocks cavation better than hydrofoils while adding the benefit of enhanced slow speed maneuvering and heading control. The Orca-Performance Fin installs in minutes without drilling using the 45M-Clamp kit or bolt directly to the cavitation plate using included hardware. The Orca fin is usually mounted with the fins down but may be installed fins up without modification if you desire less aggressive control. Used and tested on fishing boats, runabouts, pontoon boats, cruisers, ski boats and bass boats since 2002.

seems to work great, but seems pricey
Very Happy with the Orca Fin! Using the clamp set, it took only 30 minutes to install the Fin. Our boat is an aluminum bodied V hull with a 135 HP Evinrude ETEC engine. Prior to the installation of the Orca Fin, the boat would "drift". I would constantly have to correct the direction of the boat when underway. Now with the Fin installed, the "drift" has gone away. In addition, we oftentimes had trouble loading the boat on the trailer, especially when there was any wind. The wind would push the boat making it very difficult to load the boat on the trailer. With the fin installed it is much easier to load the boat on the trailer. The Orca Fin has given us dramatically better steering ability at both low speeds and high speeds. In addition, the boat gets on plane quicker and reaches cruising speed at lower RPM's. We are very happy with our purchase!
I recently order the Orca Fin and the No-Drill Clamp for my new 150 hp Honda four stroke. The hole shot on my 18' 6" Procraft bass boat was not very good. I contacted Uncle Norm's and after talking with them, was convinced that the Orca Fin should fix my problem. I had tried changing props and adjusting the jack plate. The installation of the no-drill clamp was fairly simple. I was AMAZED at the result. With 2 people and no water in the livewells my boat got on plane in 2 feet. It was stupid how quickly it jumped up. With a full livewell, it wasn't quite a quick but still quicker than it had been with my old 2 stroke Mercury. The ORCA Fin is more expensive than other hydofoils available but I believe you get what you pay for. I talked to Richard Bogerts when I was doing the installation and he answered all my questions and was very sincere in his wanting to help me. What a wonderful product and company.
Thank you for your great service and product .the orca fin helped my boats handling . Great product
Installation on our 22 foot tri-toon was relatively simple and only took about 30 minutes. Slow speed control and air infiltration was noticeably better but top speed was down at least 2-4 MPH. Cost for fin, no-drill mounting system and shipping was over $400 so might not buy again all things considered. But, if air infiltration is a big problem you can't fix with motor trim or slow speed control is weak, this fin might be what you need.
